Data Management Across DOE Labs hosted by PNNL

When: Thursday, Feb. 15, 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
Where: Virtual on TEAMS

In commemoration of Love Data Week, the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory Data Community is bringing together representatives from multiple Department of Energy (DOE) laboratories to discuss their strategic approaches and practical solutions for achieving data management goals. DOE emphasizes that effective data management holds the potential to accelerate scientific discovery and safeguard the integrity of scientific endeavors, and DOE data management policies underscore the importance of integrating data management planning into overall research planning.

While all DOE national laboratories engage in research data management to varying degrees, the distinctive environments and research domains of each laboratory give rise to diverse data management practices and support structures. During this session, participants will hear from representatives of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, National Energy Technology Laboratory, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Through flash talks, these representatives will elaborate on topics such as the methodologies employed in research data management at their respective labs and the available resources and services for researchers.
