Our open office hours provide a time for you to bring any question to World Data System staff. We want to talk about your challenges, your goals, and your triumphs – and how we can advocate for you. There is no need to sign up, and you can just show up. We are a community of data experts, and our (virtual) door is always open to our members and perspective members.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are World Data System & CoreTrustSeal the same organization?
In the past the World Data System International Program Office (WDS-IPO) and CoreTrustSeal (CTS) were housed in the same office in Japan. As of 2021, the WDS-IPO has moved to North America, and CTS is now in the Netherlands. WDS and CTS are two separate organizations that work closely together.
How do I become a member of World Data System?
The first step is completing the membership application. After that, the WDS Scientific Commitee (WDS-SC), will review your application. The WDS-IPO will reach out to you during the membership process to request more information or to let you know the WDS-SC recommendation.
Our organization is not a data repository. Can we still become members of WDS?
Absolutely. We also accept members as partners and associates. These member categories are for organizations that support research data. For more information on membership categories, go to our members page.
